Voddie Baucham, on Education

The three most asked questions:

What about socialization?

What curriculum do you use?

Is that legal?

That is the mentality of sheep.

My children are mine, not wards of the state.

The government has no jurisdiction over my children.

What is my responsibility as a father?

My responsibility as a father is to raise, train, hone, aim, and launch the arrows that God has given me. There are those who seem to think that I should take them, when they are undeveloped twigs, and launch them into a system that will hone them and aim them back at me.

NEWS FLASH!
I’m raising an army, an army of intercontinental ballistic missiles. And one day the silo will open over my home. And when it does, there will be missiles launched to impact this world that have been raised, trained, armed and honed in my home and not by Caesar.

Don't be surprised if you send your children to Caesar to be educated, and they come back Romans.

Red Republicans and Lincoln's Marxists

Marxism in the Civil War by Walter D. Kennedy and Al Benson, Jr.
Abraham Lincoln signed The Morrill Act
Washington jumped squarely into education in 1862. The "Civil War" was raging. The Morrill passed Congress. Its stated objective was to fund colleges that teach agriculture and mechanical arts, via money raised through federal land-grant sales. The true objective was to bring the Northern perspective to the re-conquered areas of the South, to teach the "rebel's" children "respect for national authority"--to break their "rebellious" spirit forever. The three Rs had absolutely nothing to do with this landmark bill. Karl Marx must have been deliriously happy with America adopting his Communist Manifesto ideas.
Senator Justin Morrilll, in explaining his authorship of the Morrill Act, said, "The role of the national government is to mold the character of the American people."

Is Public Education Necessary? by Samuel Blumenfeld

This is a well-documented book exposing the foundation of public school. An excellent quote by Robert Dale Owen reveals the messianic character of American education. The first communistic experiment was started in this country in New Harmony Indiana by his father, Robert Owen in 1825 where he started a communistic village and bought land for the people to get them away from the Christian view of private ownership of property. The experiment failed. “Why?” The glaring answer came back: People had been educated by the Christian worldview. Robert Owen gave up on a short term victory for a long term vision for the reeducation of the new generation because for the older people it was too late.

As Hitler would later say a hundred years later to a group of parents who told him, “We are not going to have our children follow you,” he answered arrogantly, “What are you? You will pass on. Your children however will stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing but this new community.”

So education to them is the savior of mankind and that is what people believe today. Robert Dale Owen, in his fiery speech, which was later published in the Free Enquirer on July 28, 1832 said, “If this country is to be redeemed, national education extended through all her states must be her redeemer.” This was written by a communist showing what he believes education can do. It saves us. We know that education is inescapably a religious discipline; therefore parents have the duty to educate their children in the nurture and instruction of the Lord.

Public education took root in 1825. Robert Owen had preached that the “children had to be separated from their parents as early as possible so that their characters could be molded by their educators.” The lesson learned by Owen and his followers was that education had to precede the creation of a communistic society. For people, education under the old system, were too selfish, and incurable. Robert Owen wrote a letter saying, “This experience proved that the attempt was premature to unite the number of strangers not previously educated for the purpose, who should carry on extensive operations for their common interest in living together as a common family so they started the Working Man's Party. The Working Man's Party was to keep the ball rolling for socialistic education. Frances Wright, one of the first feminists and big-time advocate of government education said this, “Fix your eyes upon the great object, the salvation and regeneration of human kind by means of rational education and the protection of youth…”

In 1829, Robert Dale Owen and Frances Wright were busily trying to convince Americans to accept the true “religion,” but under the name of popular education, which was the first step toward a socialist society. These two were the most responsible for making The Working Man's Party, a vehicle for promoting the idea of a national educational system.

Parents, Frances said, "could visit their children at suitable hours, but, in no case interfere with or interrupt the rules of the institution."

Why I Love Being an Entrepreneur by Lance

I love working with my brothers and sisters. It sure beats commuting to work everyday to build up the wealth of another man. We are building a beekeeping business that we pray will someday support large families.

Last May, Victor and I were in the oranges thirty minutes from home, supering the bees for the orange honey flow. When the cell phone rang, a trucker calling as he approached our house with a load of 4,000 frames. I knew I couldn’t make it back in time to unload it, so I called my younger brother to operate the forklift. The next time I talked to the trucker, he was impressed at Jodavid’s excellent handling of the forklift unloading several pallets of frames.

Our sisters are a great help rolling our pollen patties, bottling honey, bagging almonds, and selling them.

Victor and I worked two months as apprentices for a big beekeeper. We heard a lot of Spanish music playing in the warehouse. It is wonderful to work for ourselves, listening to hundreds of lectures by great men of the faith: Doug Philips, Gary DeMar, Geoff Botkin, R.J Rushdoony, Steve Wilkins, and many others. Each day it is a joy to go out looking forward to learning history lessons from these fine men. It makes the load light. Being out with my brothers gives us plenty of time to discuss the things we are learning. Thus, by being entrepreneurs we grow together in the Lord.

I Love Being an Entrepreneur by Dinah

Regina This has been a good year-
Not many mites,
but this is one Dinah discovered.
Dinah is out feeding her babies

Jodavid is a good assistant.

The bees go in.
The bees come out.
They don't usually sting.

Here is a pollen a pollen patty for them.
Ah, this hive is doing very well.

OOPS! Some are in my vail!

Dinah's Babies

Job and the proverbs 31 woman were entrepreneurs.

Proverbs 13:22 says “The godly man lays up an inheritance for his children.” Although that can be a spiritual inheritance, it was meant as a physical inheritance, even as Jesus Christ has laid up for us a physical inheritance. God cares about material things! It is the duty of all Christians to be investing in the future.

Although God does not condemn slavery, 1Cor. 7:21 says, “But if you can gain your freedom, avail yourself of the opportunity.” My father has been a Public School Teacher since before he met my mother. He cannot freely talk about Jesus Christ. He cannot take days off when he wants to. So, much of his pay check goes to helping my brothers be established in their business of beekeeping. And, he is helping me learn to raise the queen bees, so we will not be wage-slaves. The gift of having my own schedule, working with my family and listening to good speakers while I work is a gift.

If I get married just before my business gets going and spend the next 30 years of my life raising children, I will be thankful for the time I was able to spend helping my dad and brothers in the dominion calling God is giving them.

May God raise up a generation of entrepreneurs such that they may be able to be the engine that funds Christian reconstruction.

Sunday Baptism

We almost didn't go to Kaweah Sunday.
Dad had a stack of report cards to do and three had colds.
But as Mom, D & I left, Dinah said
"I'm so glad we're going to church. It's like going home!"

Shee-Shee and Sho-Shu were baptized. Pastor goes to one for massage in Visalia.

When they found out he was a pastor, they asked if they could be baptized.
With hand gestures, Warren Mark demonstrated emersion.
No! No! One lady spoke in Chinese while gesturing that
due to a condition she said she could not get her legs in. She wanted sprinkling.
"Sure." So that's what he did.
I am thankful for Pastor's flexibility,

not to get hung up on differences, but to serve the believers.
Shee-Shee and Sho-Shu's driver, Gabriel, was an emigrant from Hungary.
He was part of the underground church there.

Regi, the daughter of one of the ladies, translated for them.

She is in college majoring in Psychology.

Regi's English is quite good, though she has only been here one year.

She says in China they have to study English to pass.

But here it is different -- you have to speak it.

Regi's Grandmother is part of a house church in China.

A Prayer of Dedication
April (right) is planning to be married soon. God is sending her out.

Happy Birthday Dad!

May God grant you a long life, so that you may live to see your great, great grand children. We are so blessed to be a part of this family and your vision of victory. You always encourage of us to use our time wisely preparing to be ambassadors for Christ's Kingdom. You have told us in the morning "Your enemies are not sleeping.” That is a great reminder that the world is a battle ground and not a playground. Thank you for investing in excellent books for us to read, study, and learn from. Thank you for investing in our bee business so we would someday be self-employed men of God, using our wealth as an engine for reformation. Thank you for taking us to great conferences to spend time learning and talking to national speakers and letting us help in the Tom McClintock Campaign, enabling him win a congressional seat. Thank you for giving us a vision of rising early to read with your wife, then reading the Bible and other great books to us. I pray that your vision for me would be fulfilled in my life.

As Psalm 112 says: "Praise the Lord. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in his commandments. His descendents will be mighty on the earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. Wealth and riches will be in his house and his righteousness endures forever."

That is my prayer for your descendants that they may stand in the gates, speaking with their enemies without fear.

Having a big family and raising us in the LORD,

Persuing truth and loving to STUDY!
Caring about diet and health,

For being such a great dad,

For lifting weights,

And not just hearing something and believing it
But searching it out

And pursuing truth and wisdom like a good Berean.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Dear Papa,

Thank you for marrying Mamma,

for waking us up with"Let us seize the day" mandate,

for taking us running and to wonderful conferences

to meet the godly giants of Christendom.

For giving us great books to fill our minds with wisdom,

encouraging us in our studies, gifts and skills,

and for giving us bright hope for the future.

Thank you for seeking truth with a whole heart

and for raising us up in the way we should go,

as the Psalmist put it.

Thank you for your vision of victory,

And for growing a beard.

Thank you for sending us to San Antonio

to learn from the best in the area of Cinema.

Apart from the education juggernaut of the school system,

Cinema is the most powerful way of communication.

As Galatians 6:9 says

“Be not weary in well doing

for in due season you shall reap if you faint not.”

I Love you Daddy!

"All the ends of the earth shall remember

and turn to the Lord,

and all the familiesof the nations

shall worship before Him,

For the Kingdom is the Lord’s

and he rules over the nations."

No guilt in life,

no fear in death,

this is the power of Christ in me.

From life’s first cry to final breath,

Jesus commands my destiny.

No power of hell,

no scheme of man,

can ever pluck me from His Hand.

Till he returns or calls me home,

here in the power of Christ,

I’ll stand.

Every generation has it’s defining challenge.

Ours is the systematic annihilation of the biblical family.

Psalm 4:23 "Keep thy heart with all diligence;

for out of it are the issues of life."

Dear Dad,

Happy 61st Birthday,

I’m so thankful God gave you to be my dad.

Your love of the commandments and law of God are an example to me.

Thank you for daily denying yourself to serve the family,

going to work, encouraging us, waiting for us,

teaching me how to read when you wanted to read to yourself.

Thank you for giving a large part of your paycheck

to helping your sons become established in business.

Thank you for showing us marriage is a good thing!

Thank you for taking us to learn from good speakers.

I hope to marry a man as great as you!

Birthday Thank You

61 years ago today you were born.

Grandma Betty went through a difficult labor for 36 hours

while Grandpa Dave waited outside.

Grandma had come close to loosing you

and had to be on bed rest for 6 weeks.

But on this day she delivered a healthy boy

and they named you David.

Grandma, practicing all her nurses training, fed you so well that at one year, you weighed 30 pounds!

You became a big brother to Lance, John and Mary

You played football and wanted to be a policeman like your dad.

God saved you and gave you new vision.

He took you to a small farm town where you met your love of a lifetime

You read the Bible together and God gave the seven of us life.

You and Mom built a house without debt, as a team.

Three were born during construction.
You taught us to stand fast in the liberty, for which Christ has set us free.

And to love the fruit of the womb, our elders and food that gives life.

You gave one daughter away to build another family.
You take us many miles to worship every week.
And many more miles to see the foundation stones of our nation

and hear the Providence of God. We laid stones of remembrance to tell the children who will be born

of those who put their hope in God and persevered.

Thank you for seeking wisdom and urging us to gain understanding.

Thank you for teaching us the work of God, it gives us hope.

I thank our Father for His gift of your 61 years.

Your firstborn,

Regina

Praise the LORD!

Blessed is the man who fears the LORD,

who delights greatly in His commandments.

His descendants will be might on the earth.

The generation of the upright will be blessed.

Psalm 112:1-2

My David

I love you. I know you are mine. For you all the men in the world, I resign. No one else would find me so beautiful. No one else would lead us to the truth we have discovered together. Thank you for your devotion to Christ, to me, our children, the Word of God, Christ’s Kingdom, to great books, to keeping yourself strong and healthy. Thank you for loving wholesome food and friends, for bringing your children along to the special events. Thank you for having a great heart of grief for dear ones lost. We go through our valleys of tears together and take delight in the triumphs as our Lord leads us in victory. Thank you for building a family and this house with me and trusting my ideas. Thank you for giving me your life and listening to me.

It is to you I give my life, my love, myself.
