Happy 90th Birthday, Grandma Stoops!

He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.

The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth.

The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD’S:

but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

The dead praise not the LORD,

neither any that go down into silence.

But we will bless the LORD

from this time forth

and for evermore.

Praise the LORD.

~from Psalm 115

Dear Grandma,

Thank you for raising Mama, your gracious hospitality

wonderful cooking, and your love for us

We have been memorizing Psalm 103, it is so beautiful.

“The mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, and His righteousness to children’s children, to such as keep His covenant and remember His commandments, to do them. The Lord has established His throne in heaven and His kingdom rules over all…Bless the Lord, all His works in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul!”

Thank you for your priceless legacy of loving the Word of God, welcoming the blessing of children, and being a godly wife and mother. “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her the fruit of her hands, and let her own works praise her in the gates.”

Love and Blessings!

Remembering Grandma's House

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma!

I Thank God that He has allowed me to know you through all my growing- up years. My memories of being at Grandma and Grandpa’s house are vivid in my mind:

  • Getting wet in the sprinkler and having to wear Grandpa’s tee shirts was special!
  • I loved you, Grandma, giving me a bath. When I was clean you sang, “Stand up, stand up for Jesus!”
  • I loved spending the night at your house when Mom was in labor and we were waiting for the sweet new baby to come. You took such good care of us and made sure we all had enough blankets and fixed us our favorite food! The smell of your home was sweet and in the morning we sat in the living room and had family devotions. Grandpa would recite a couple psalms.
  • Your garden was abundant! I remember picking okra, corn and beans with you and Fama. Your vegetables were so good!
  • Your home was a reprieve from the hustle of life; it made me feel so happy and safe.

Through Mom’s stories of growing up I have gotten to know you better.

Thank you for praying for all of us and our cousins each day, as I know you do!

Every day I realize I am becoming more like you!

With all my love,

Dinah Seppi

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma

You and Grandpa passed the great legacy to my parents of having family devotions.

The puritans had worship twice a day.

We loved going to Grandpa and Grandma’s house and staying overnight, having devotions and having meals together.

I hope we will have many more times to see you.

Victor Seppi

Happy 90th Birthday, Grandma,

I pray God gives you many more years.

Thank you for having all the children God would give you when the world teaches that children are a burden but the Lord gives them as blessings. “Blessed is the man who has his quiver full of them. They shall not be ashamed when they speak with their enemies in the gate.” Psalm 127:5

Thank you for having daily devotions with your children diligently praying for your grandchildren. I pray your grandchildren will carry on your legacy to the next generation.

God Bless You, Grandma!

Mary Frances Bailey Stoops- 90th Birthday

Happy 90th Birthday, Mother

God resists the proud, but gives grace to you, Mother.

Thank you for your years of raising us seven: praying for us and with us, preparing delicious meals, reading scripture to us and telling us stories, gardening, canning, washing clothes and dishes and training us to work, and cleaning the church.

Thank you for your years of helping us with our seven children, bringing them to the births of their siblings, preparing meals for us on our days of running errands in Visalia. Thank you for taking care of Daddy for so long.

Most of all, thank you for all your love and prayers through all the years!

I love you Mom,
Esther

Mexican Black Bean Salad

Photo and recipe from Stacy McDonald's blog:

http://yoursacredcalling.blogspot.com/2009/12/mexican-black-bean-salad.html

I've tried this recipe with black or pinto beans and my family asks "Are there anymore of those good beans?" I left out the red bell pepper, beau monde seasoning and parsley. I also used lemon instead of lime, did not give it time to marinate, and used plenty of fresh cilantro. Served with jicama, carrot sticks, celery, radishes and garden greens. ~Regina

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

This is one of our family's favorite lunches. It's easy, it doesn't need to be heated, and it's nutritious. It's a particularly good protein snack for pregnant or nursing moms! Serve with a few tortilla chips and enjoy!

- 6 cups of cooked black beans
- 1 c. cooked risotto rice or quinoa
- ½ c. diced red onion
- ¾ c. olive oil
- ¾ c. lime juice
- 1/2 c. chopped fresh parsley
- ½ c. - 1 c. chopped cilantro
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 2 diced red bell pepper
- 4 medium tomatoes, diced
- 16 oz. fresh or frozen corn
- 1 tsp. beau monde seasoning
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. cumin
- 1 T. garlic powder (or to taste)
- Salt and ground pepper to taste

Optional:

- Diced Avocados

Mix all ingredients (except tomatoes) and allow to marinate for 1-2 hours. Just before serving, add tomatoes. Toss well and serve.

Red Posole

I added chopped mustard greens a few minutes before serving. They cook quickly in the hot stew. We found this recipe in the February 2010 McDougall Newsletter:

Collateral Murder in This War

If you are pro this war, you have got to witness Americans slaughtering Iraqis from a helicopter including a van with men rescuing wounded. Click on link below.

This is the legacy of George Bush, who went to war with Iraq without a Declaration of War from Congress. He was given unlimited war powers to invade an independent nation, enforcing UN resolutions.

We should NEVER go to war to enforce UN resolutions.

This is the legacy of Sean Hannity, Mike Huckabee, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Riley, Stu Epperson, Richard Land, Bill Crystal, Michael Pence, Tom Minery Sr. VP for Government & Policy at Focus on the Family. These men signed a document for a nuclear free Iran. It tells an independent nation that it is not allowed to have nuclear weapons.

Tom Minery also supported Mormon, Mitt Romney.

Gary Bower signed it too. He also stands with John [heretic] Haggy, an adulterter.
Gary DeMar did not sign the document because he understands eschatology.

John Lofton interviewed Carl Molar from Open Doors, who said this does target Christians [in the name helping Israel]. Persecution in Iran has skyrocketed, "Iran is ranked number 2 on the world watch list that Open Doors produces each year. That means essentially that it's the second worst nation in the world in order to be a Christian." When Christian leaders in our country are bashing Iran, telling them what weapons they are allowed to have, Carl Molar of Open Doors said, "It puts the Christians in the crosshairs of the government...Iran in the last year had the worst level of persecution."

When we side with Israel, we are helping an atheistic God hating nation, turning our back on our true brothers in the Lord who are being murdered in Iran. This is not Christianity.

Our brothers are those that are of faith, these are the children of Abraham. In Israel, it is illegal to teach the gospel of Jesus Christ. If you share your faith today, you will be thrown in prison or shipped out of the country.

The modern state of Israel is NOT a fulfillment of Bible prophecy. It is a fulfillment of Rothschild money. May 14, 1948 the so-called fulfillment of prophecy, taking back Israel for the Jews. They chased the inhabitants out and stole their homes, converted Christian churches into Synagogues. They killed 250 women and children in the process. Many Palestinians lost their homes.

What is the difference between US and the Nazi’s? They fought for socialism. The USA fights for international socialism. Socialistic governments are unbiblical and oppressive, like the Union of Soviet Socialist Republic or the People's Republic of China. There is no nation on earth that I would want to impose democracy on. Our founders gave us a true republic with rule by law, not mob rule. John Winthrop called democracy the "devil's own government."

The Tenets of Biblical Patriarchy

The Tenets of Biblical Patriarchy - Vision Forum Ministries

Patriarchy vs. Feminism

Martin Selbrede's constructive biblical critique of both Feminism and Patriarchy.

http://www.chalcedon.edu/articles/article.php?ArticleID=2965

Patriarchy is a great blessing, as long as it is under the Lord. Having lost someone we love through their idolatry to an ungodly autonomous patriarchy, we hate it almost as much as we hate godless autonomous feminism. We need to learn more how to apply God's word.

The Botkins have a saying that, every culture is a patriarchy. Some lead well for God's glory, while other cultures lead badly for Satan's glory.

Feminism is simply women helping tear down God's design in family, church and state. Godless patriarchy does the same thing and lays the groundwork for a culture under judgment.

There is a time for a lower magistrate to correct an higher magistrate.

Paul told the young Timothy how to correct an older man appealing to him as to a father. He is to speak to younger women as to sisters and older women as mothers.

Daughters are valuable here with brothers, sisters, Mom & Dad. A woman too can appeal to her husband.

Men are concerned with conquering. Women are concerned with relationships. Women need to help their men conquer rightly. Neither can do this without being under Christ.

Melody listening with Papa to Botkin's Father to Son-Worship, 15 Lies
Some of misleading statements and lies of present-day culture which can be refuted by Scripture:
History is not important

Greeks were cool and Secular democracy has always been the best kind of government

Good civilizations had lots of schooling. Bad ones had Christianity.

The Puritans were evil and represent the dangers of Christianity and Western civilization

The law says you have to go to school and the smartest, richest people go to college because school credentials from the state are the measure of schooling and higher-order personhood.

Scientific, statist social engineering is proof that man is evolving from cave/ primitive organism status to physical and social perfection.

Pop culture is proof that freedom is license and license is good.

There is no certainty of objective meaning which can be known. Truth is relative rather than universal and absolute. Reality is little more than one’s perspective.

The curriculum is not religious, but neutral and secular.

“Secular” is superior to “religious" in matters of statecraft and education.

The state, sovereign over the family, is the only legal and the best teacher of children.

The state has sovereign lawmaking powers, and only the state has the ability and responsibility to reform people and institutions for a better world.

There is a proven body of knowledge at the state teacher college level that represents the one best way for all children to learn and become good citizens.

• State training and certification of teachers is mandatory for all teachers. Other teachers are inferior and/or illegal “non-experts”.

Children want to be in school with children of the same age, and are better off in school than at home with their families.

For their own good and the good of society, children need the socialization of the school environment as early as they can get it, preferably in pre-schools and kindergartens.

Success in life, and approval by the state, requires attendance in state schools, and full agreement with a state curriculum.

Because education is so important to the state’s agenda, and to the better world it is creating, a person’s value is directly connected to the amount of state education he receives. His academic credibility also depends on his state credentials and licenses.

The world is getting worse because it’s supposed to be getting worse.

Old-fashioned child training methods are outdated.

For many reasons, small families are best, and kids should be on their own as soon as possible.

The safest course for our kids’ success is to keep them as closely as possible to accepted paths of progress: school, sports, college, college degree, job, career, mortgage, pension...and whatever else is popular for today.

The modern church, with all its diverse ministries, powerful media technologies and dynamic leaders, is quite spiritually advanced.

The ‘kingdom of God’ is heaven, or the term might possibly refer to the Church.

Christians don’t need to be involved in politics. It’s better if they’re not.

The Old Testament is no longer that relevant for religious life, or any other kind of life, either.

Full-time religious life is primarily a clergyman thing.

Most religions are okay, and it’s politically dangerous to say Christianity is superior. Non-Christians cannot follow Christian precepts.

A healthy caretaker government is necessary for the common good, especially if it’s scientific and secular rather than religious.

The government could be doing a better job in education.

It’s only fair that the rich should pay more than their fair share of taxes.

The U.N. can solve the war-peace thing better than independent nations ever will.

Behind the Seams: Fashion Design - Intelligent Design

"Someone has thought through and designed every article of clothing we've ever laid eyes on, down to the minutest detail. These designers understand the power of feminine accoutrements, and have painstakingly infused their ideals and high ambitions into the styles of the day; not only in what is worn, but in how it is worn. These designers understand that every piece of clothing is a declaration of worldview!" - http://ahthelife.blogspot.com/

USDA Regulations

http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_4742.cfm

USDA Says "Raw" Almonds, Including Organic, Must Soon be Steam-Heated or Treated with Toxic Chemical

Small-scale farmers, retailers, and consumers are outraged over a new federal regulation that will require almonds to be sterilized with various "pasteurization" techniques.

“Raw produce and nuts are not inherently risky foods. Contamination occurs when livestock manure or fecal matter is inadvertently transferred to food through contaminated water, soil, or transportation and handling equipment. Raw foods can also be infected by poor employee sanitation either on the farm or in processing facilities.”

We know of a family in Orange County that requires their customers to sign a document that the goat milk purchased is for animal consumption. They sell a quart for about $18.

According to USDA our almonds may be for animals. The sheller told us the almonds have gone through a sheller machine. That's it. The ones we toss out sprout and grow trees in the compost pile.
