History of the Pledge to the Flag
The pledge was designed to get all school children trained to believe individual states had no sovereignty, and the federal government was all-powerful.
This started during Reconstruction in the South, as a way to brainwash school children into abandoning the ideals of their fathers and grandfathers.
The word "indivisible" was viewed as the most important word in the pledge.
