A metal detector enthusiast discovered a 2,000-year-old golden neckband worth £350,000 while out looking for bits of Second World War aircraft.

Maurice Richardson discovered the Iron Age gold and silver choker, known as a torc, in a Nottinghamshire field near his Newark home.

He made £175,000 when he sold it to Newark and Sherwood District Council, under a provision of the Treasure Act 1996 that ensures the finder receives half its estimated value. The land owner got the other half. Before 1996 the legal process for dealing with treasure was less clear...

Barbara Follett, the culture minister, welcomed the finds.

She said: "Since the implementation of the Treasure Act in 1996 - which ruled that finders and landowners will be eligible for rewards for finds - museums have reported a ten-fold increase in the treasure items offered to them."

Knox & Rushdoony on Civil Disobedience

Just found these two great quotes on Joshua Phillips' blog:

True it is that God hath commanded kings to be obeyed, but like true it is, that in things which they commit against His glory or when cruelly without cause they rage against their brethren, the members of Christ's body, He hath commanded no obedience. Rather, He hath approved, yea, and greatly rewarded such as have opposed themselves to their ungodly commandments and blind rage. --John Knox

Law is inseparable from sovereignty; every word from a sovereign power is a binding word. Logically, there can only be one sovereign, and He is the Lord God of Scripture. ...To deny His laws in favor of another set of laws is to deny His doctrine in favor of a rival system. It is also a denial of His sovereignty in favor of another. --R. J. Rushdoony, Sovereignty

Response to Irish Blog Comment

Some of the dancing looks fun on Youtube. My favorite is this one:

Connemara Irish dance group [Not especially modest ~ but a great work out!]

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHx4guRdniE&feature=related

Like every people group, the Irish have beauty, art, great stories and some mighty people to contribute. But like every group the best thing is Christ.

Lance gave a Sunday School lesson on racism a few weeks ago. He used Marshall Foster’s opening quote at Jamestown describing the European tribes before Christ. The Celts were known to run into battle naked, painted blue and even to eat their enemies afterwards. But then the Bible came. Whenever the Bible is taken seriously, God changes nations. Scotland sent out more missionaries than probably any other nation besides the US.

Ireland, an island that Rome did not bother to conquer, sent men who evangelized all of Europe, working off the tiny Isle of Iona.

The Protestant/Catholic conflict comes partly from when English kings gave Scots free land in Ireland, bringing resentment to an already fractured land.

I am thankful for Obama in that he is a more honest socialist. [That is he acknowledges himself to be a socialist.] And his election is driving people to their knees. An alert and purified church is far more important than who is president, though political messiahs are some of the most dangerous men ever -- combining power with their people's worship.

"Let My People Go"

A tyrant is one who rules without God. The goal is the destruction of covenant children.

The word of the Lord comes through His faithful servants to the tyrants of our time: Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘Let My people go.’” Gen 5:1 It is never easy to serve the Lord, but it is harder not to. For those who refuse to obey His voice are under the plagues of Egypt.

"Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." Rev. 18:4

We are God's property and must keep all things entirely under His word. He arms us to stand in His Name against all enemies of His Kingdom.

The enemy we face is humanism, the worship of the creature, of man. The first humanistic manifesto was issued in the Garden of Eden by the tempter. Its affirmation is that every man must be his own god, knowing or determining for himself good and evil Gen. 3:5. Humanism's war against God is the oldest and most central of all wars, but the least recognized. If we know the Lord, we know who His enemies are.

God's word to His enemies remains the same: "Let my people go!"

Saving The Dollar, Jobs, and Freedom:
A No-Nonsense Look At Economic Realities
Inflation? Federal Reserve? Money? U.S. Constitution? Bailouts? Job Losses? Design Behind the Meltdown? Most importantly, what kind of a country are we being forced to leave for future generations? Economics is not mysterious even though some would like you to believe you can’t comprehend what is happening to America. The answer to the current mess begins with less government and certainly includes honest money – something our nation hasn’t had for decades. John McManus didn’t study economics in college – which gives him a huge advantage over most who did. His 1993 book Financial Terrorism is just as valuable today as it was when first issued.
The Misguided War on Terror

William F. Jasper, Sr. Editor of The New American and author of several publications, including The U.N. Exposed, will provide an in-depth analysis of the war on terror. Mr. Jasper discusses a foreign policy that has America both financing and fighting terrorists. Also, learn how you as a citizen of the United States can help expose their plans and prevent future atrocities like the Oklahoma City bombing and the World Trade Center tragedy in New York.

Orthodoxy: Unity and Diversity in Christ’s Church

Debbie, part of Grace Reformation,

Opened her beautiful home to all eight of us.

At 50, Debbie has never been married

And is a great example of Christian service.

Regretably, we have no pictures of her. ~ Esther

Dr. Barry Horner, Dr. Gary DeMar, Mr. David VanDrunen, and Pastor Tom Schreiner arrived with their respective hosts. When Barry Horner arrived (Gary’s opponent of the next day) Lance enthusiastically greeted him and told him that he was aspiring to be as great a debater as Gary DeMar. The poor fellow, you could see him stiffen as a wave of shock washed over his face.
Mother wanted us to take notes, but I waited a long time to get my purse. Just as Regina and I came in, Dr. DeMar came in along with Pastor Poarch and the Schreiner’s.J We were soon at the entrance when Gary noticed Regina and I and greeted us with a smile and a handshake. We ran out to the van and got my stuff. Inside the door there was Gary surrounded by Daddy, Dinah, the guys and a few others. We joined the circle and chatted with him until the debate.
Pastor Poarch came up to Dr. DeMar and said; “When these people came to my church I thought they were all excited about ME but it turned out that they're excited about YOU!” He walked away with a grin. Gary laughed. He came back later with offers of security in case of being mobbed. All to rib us, of course. J

That evening was the Paedo v. Credo, Infant v. Believer Baptism debate. Each side first presented their position and then VanDrunen and Schreiner along with a moderator sat down questioned each other, discussed and then answered questions.

Basically VanDrunen made the case that baptism replaces circumcision and therefore as in the New Testament whole households rejoiced and were baptized. Baptism does not save us, but is an act of obedience.

Infants ought to be baptized [or dedicated to the LORD.] ~Melody

A sweet family helping host the conference.

Joy, (far right) is originally from Ukraine.

She and her husband met through

He liked her entry because she was not trying

to get all the right things mentioned

or what she wanted in a husband.

She just wrote why Christ is important.

Connie and Dan cordinated music before the Credo/Pado baptism debate.

The moderator, explained his accent; "I like this, we've got Gary and Barry.
It makes a Scotsman happy to be able to roll my RRs."
Gary, can you explain the Mellinum to us?
Luke O. brought about 20 people.

After the debate this sweet lady came up to Mr. DeMar and had a lot of questions about what he believed about the Jews. She is married to a Jewish Christian and was concerned about Christians treating the Jews as the people of God because of their nationality and being the children of Abraham.

God said to Abraham Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you,

And I will curse him who curses you;

And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed."

But who are the true seed of Abraham: The Jews or Christians?

Galatians 3:7 Says “Therefore know that only those who are of faith are sons of Abraham. 8 And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham before hand, saying, ‘In you all the nations shall be blessed.’ 9 So then those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham.”

Galatians 3:26 says “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free , there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29And if you are Christ’s then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Galatians 4:28 “Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are children of promise. 29 But, as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, Even so it is now. 30 Nevertheless what does the Scripture say?” Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” 31So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free. ~ Dinah

California State Capitol in Sacramento

We first went to Sutter’s Fort and then on to the magnificent palace of a capital:Only Mom & Dad had seen the capitol before.
surmounted by a cupola and brass ball,
with massive pillars, marble landing,
and ornate staircases with wood carved pineapples hanging from the ceiling.
Hands Clasped
Schulpture Abounded
The Great Seal of California
In the main room you can look up into the beautifully decorated inside of the dome,

below which, is a slightly smaller that life representation of
Queen Isabella giving her crown jewels to Columbus
to pawn for the great expedition to the American Continent.

{Click on the photo above to enlarge it}

Hurry Mom!
We rode on the elevator to the 3rd story and passing by a few offices
quickly found the legislatve chambers.

The ornate wood carved décor of the high lofty ceilings

reminded me of Monticello architecture.

A gentleman was there and told us about everything.
Lighted by three chandeliers, down below we could see the desks,
all furnished with Macs, the state chair of the speaker etc.
Computers cost less than reams of paper.
We were in the balcony, level with the Lincoln portrait
below which, was a Latin phrase which translates as:

It is the duty of the Legislature to enact just laws. ~ Melody

Columbus brought Christ to the New World.

Little did we know that just 24 hours later,

Lance would be back , speaking like a prophet

to the cameras and sodomites.

We picked him up, surrounded by a few Christian friends

having a proposition 8 celebration

complete with whistles, horns and yellow balloons.

There were about 1000 sodomites, which was down from their anticipated 10-30,000. Lance explained that biblically, this is treason against the family.

He saw a wedding party with bride and groom come out from the Catholic church across from the capital, while across the street, the angry throng chanted, waving rainbow flags. Lance said about 90% of the crowd was in their twenties. He sees this as a direct result of public schools. ~ Regina

Sutter's Fort in Sacramento

All but by wonderful mother, who snapped the picture.
Melody and Dinah with Pattie Reed's doll.

This doll was brought by a little girl in the Donner Party. Sadly, they left too late in the year and were caught in the terrible winter storms. They starved; some were reduced to cannibalism.

Behind our shoulders, is also a watch and a Masonic metal plate on a string. Mr. Reed gave this to his wife. She used it to trade with the Indians for food. He left in search of the fort. Later the Indian was found dead and the two items were returned to the man. I looked closely on the Masonic metal, and there were two rows of goat stars at the top.
Regina told Jodavid about Patty Reed's doll.

One picture we did not get was the apothecary, where I asked Dad,

"Wouldn't you like to be taken care of by those 'doctors.'"

"Yeah," he said, "and get mercury fed to me."

An automatic recording came on of a man's diary saying that the doctor had gone to care for one of the chief's daughters. He bled her a little. Later her father came by the fort and said she had gotten better. The next time he said she was doing well then on another visit he said she had died.

In Defense of Christmas by Melody Seppi

"On this rock [Christ] I will build My Church
and the Gates of Hell will not prevail against it."

Halloween has long held proudly the stigma of witchcraft and pagan idol worship, but Christmas? It is said by some that both are high feast days especially for witchcraft, the occult and false gods worshiped by pagan peoples. You can pick any day of the year and if you or I went back far enough we could find something terrible or horrendous, great or simply wonderful that happened on that day.
On October 31st Satan is worshiped and God Glorified: Satan through the participation of thousands in the cute-ifacation of magic, witchcraft, the dumbing down and open rebellion to God’s law-word, and God honored and glorified through the remembrance of Reformation Day celebrating the marvelous works of God in the Reformers: Luther, Calvin, Knox and many others. On this day Martin Luther nailed his 95 thesis to the Church door in Wittenberg.
During the early missionary movement in Europe after the fall of Rome, tribe after tribe were converted to Christianity, the winter cult festivals were gone—leaving a gaping void—and as a result of following Christ their cultures were radically changed, instead of sin, bondage, a culture of death & human sacrifice, there was liberty in His law, freedom in Christ, a culture of Life, and the worship of the one true and living God.

The celebration of Christmas was birthed out of a movement of building the foundations of Christendom. In the midst of seemingly impenetrable darkness the light of Christ shone in glory, instead of the winter cult festivals, the celebration of the birth of our Savior. The old has passed away, and behold all things are made new.
As George Grant says: “Joy replaced desperation. Celebration replaced propitiation. Christmas feasts replaced new moon sacrifices. God replaced Baal, Molech, Apollo, and Thor. Glad tidings of great joy indeed.”

Headgear

Dr. Dunn gave us an ultimatum:
Remove braces now
or have teeth pulled.

Mom asked for headgear.

This is rarely done now.
It is worth it to keep all my teeth.
