A Post from "The Common Room"

Fellow members of the congregation where we attend were told that their unborn grandchild had no brain. The parents were urged to abort. They were assured there was no brain, and this child would die once born anyway.

They decided that since their doctors' best advice ended with the same heartbreaking scenario no matter what they chose- they were going to be the parents of a dead child- they would prefer to at least have the chance to hold her gently before she left them rather than dismember her, and they continued the pregnancy.

Their baby was born on Sunday. She has a clean bill of health, including a full neurological exam and battery of tests which revealed a healthy, normal baby.

Praise the Lord!

What a wonderful testament to God's sovreignty versus man's very limited knowledge! How much better to trust our Heavenly Father's wisdom, clearly laid out in His Word. Every life is precious, even if it isn't "perfect" in the world's eyes.

We have heard so many stories like this one. WOW!

WOW! Usually if Mama posts, i don't, but I just had to put my two cents in. Thanks for posting that. It's so encouraging to hear of parents who chose to do right rather than giving in to advice. Praise the Lord, and what a wonderful testimony that little one will have her entire life!!

Some years back a woman related to me that, haveing borne four children, her doctor had ordered her to have no more, as she was a frail woman and would likely not survive a subsezuent pregnancy. She didn't listen. Got the same lecture as Number Five approached. Didn't listen that time either. And four more times after that, she having carried a total of ten full term healthy babies in her life. That doctor never ceased his warnings, either.... never mind he'd been wrong six times! That woman was by Grandmother, the second child she "shouldn't have had" was by Father. She related this story to me on her one hundredth birthday, having outlived the doctor by a few decades, and more than half the children she never was supposed to have. She finally went to her reward at 106 years of age. She had outlived half of her ten children. It was quite funny, hearing her relate this and shaking her head at how little those doctors know!!!
