Jackie was in the correctional officer academy when she realized she was pregnant. She felt as though all her hopes and dreams of getting this job were crashing. Jackie was going to get an abortion when she met Terri Lawler Palmquist at the abortion clinic sidewalk. She asked Terri to watch her 6-month-old grandchild while she got a free pregnancy test at the abortion clinic. Terri offered to adopt or take care of the newborn. The moment-of-truth came when she held him in her arms and discovered she could not give him up. He is still just as sweet.
