Apostate Man vs Theocratic Man

The direction of history is twofold in its historical manifest ion. Apostate man moves towards establishing a radically humanistic social order in which God is abolished and man is his own law and lawgiver.

Apostate works to create a paradise on earth without God, law, or morality. The morality of humanism is that man is his own law, and that no moral law beyond man can govern man.

Regenerate man, however, works to reestablish the law order of God among men, to establish church, state, and society in terms of the word of God, and to manifest the kingdom of God in its every meaning.

History is thus in tension between these two warring forces, but the tension is more than the natural, historical tension. There is also the tension which apostate man inescapably feels by virtue of his rebellion against his sovereign, the triune God. There is the tension of epistemological self-consciousness, as apostate man comes to know himself and his implications more fully. And there is also the tension of failure, as apostate finds that his every effort is frustrated and works towards his own confounding.

Law and Gospel

"The purpose of the law is not to restrict man's life but to fulfill it.
When man disobeys that law, it becomes a death sentence to him;
when he obeys it, it becomes life to him.
By Christ's atonement, we are removed from self-atonement,
from sin and death, and established in truth and life."
- R. J. Rushdoony, Revolt Against Maturity, p. 198

"For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light..." (Pro. 6:23)

Deuteronomy 30:15-19 says, "I have set before you today life and good, death and evil, in that I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the Lord your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess. But if your heart turns away so that you do not hear, and are drawn away, and worship other gods and serve them, I announce to you today that you shall surely perish; you shall not prolong your days in the land which you cross over the Jordan to go in and possess. I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live..."

As Kevin Swanson noted, in Revelation Christians are defined as those "who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." (Rev. 12:17) Clearly those who hate God and His law are not regenerate.

God's law is His standard, defining what is righteous and just, and what is sin. By it we are condemned to death. God loved us and sent Jesus to die for His people, taking the sentence we deserve and imputing His righteousness to us.

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)

Having been forgiven much, we love much. "Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." (1 John 2:3-4)

"Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all
that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus
to all generations, forever and ever. Amen."
~Ephesians 3:20-21

New Military Litmus Test: Will you fire on American Citizens?

Roy Moore cross-examined for acknowledging God

Hooray for Chief Justice Roy Moore and the Alabamans who reelected him. "I will restore thy judges as at first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called. The City of Righteousness." (Isaiah 1: 26. 27)

"Take this world and give me Jesus..."

There’s a song, “Take this world and give me Jesus, this is not where I belong!” The creed is appropriate for a church that has become wholly irrelevant by failing to preach the laws of God relative to politics, economics or aught else.
R. J. Rushdoony nailed it, “God does not rapture us out of history but plunges us into it as warriors of God.”
So yes, we “desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one.” But, Hebrews tells us what a pilgrimage looks like: "...who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, were made strong out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight." (Heb. 11:33-34)
As Peter Bringe wrote, “Let us hold fast to our faith in God and His promises and conquer some kingdoms!”

John Lennon Quote

John Lennon's music sold 2.3 billion albums. He said we are more popular than Jesus. He even made profession of faith but then abandoned it because he did not find happiness. He said, "I don't believe in the evolution of fish to monkey to men. It's absolutely irrational garbage. They set up these idols and then they knock them down. It keeps all the old professors happy at the university. It gives them something to do... everything they told me as a kid has already been disproved by the same type of 'experts' who made them up in the first place."
