Before Friday's Thanksgiving Dinner with Greg's family,
he had Lance read this:

Whereas it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly implore His protection, aid and favors...
Now therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these states to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the Beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be that we may then all unite in rendering unto Him our sincere and humble thanks for His kind care and protection of the people of this country, and for all the great and various favors which He has been pleased to confer upon us.

Holiday Challenge Pledge
I am committed to my health and I am taking
Dr. Fuhrman's Holiday Challenge!

This year, as I celebrate the holidays and enjoy

the company of my family and friends,
I will make food choices that support my health.

For the next 6 weeks, I promise to…

• Eat at least one large salad every day
• Eat generous amounts of cooked green vegetables

, mushrooms, and onions
• Eat beans every day
• Eat at least three fresh fruits every day
• Avoid white flour
• Avoid sugars and artificial sweeteners
• Use oils sparingly

I will not allow peer pressure or tempting toxic foods

 to derail me from my
health goals.

I will not compromise my health to please others.

I will set an example of health-mindedness

for those around me.

It's (Not That) Complicated

Excerpt from It’s (Not That) Complicated

How do young men and young women interact with one another when marriage is not in view? Can young men and young women be ‘friends’? And how does a young woman guard her heart, preserve her purity, and walk in integrity without treating young men with disdain? In It’s (Not That) Complicated, Anna Sofia and Elizabeth Botkin address these and other questions with wisdom, grace, transparency, and biblical acuity.

Looking for a good church in Bakersfield?

We all enjoyed Covenant Presbyterian in Bakersfield.  The components of the service fit together beautifully as the songs applied to the teaching.

Pastor Randy Martin is an excellent teacher.  In Sunday School he taught about sharing our faith and assisted the students to list concepts people need to understand to come to faith in Christ.  He showed from a survey, that unless believers are trained in sharing their faith, 90% of the time, they do not.

In the sermon, Randy reminded us that after St. Paul's  conversion, he spent three years in Ephesus, going house to house, teaching and equipping the church with humility and tears, before he met Peter. It was 14 years after his conversion before he met the rest of the apostles.  Paul used his biography of negative qualifications (a persecutor of the church), and abnormal apostleship (never walked with Jesus), not for humor or to build himself up, but to authenticate his message.  pcabakersfield/sermons/Authenticity

French Green Clay

When talking to a friend, Carol told us that she no longer has to color her hair because she takes French green clay which gives her body the minerals it needs and removes toxins. We were amazed that from the roots out, Carol's hair is dark except some reddish near the ends

"Simple, yet powerful, it detoxifies the body and heals a wide array of ailments. It acts like a sponge and a sticky paper for chemicals, pollutants, toxins...The essential minerals within the clay are released and the body absorbs those it needs to maintain health & vigor. "

Said to be good for tremors, nerve damage, colon, bowls, stomach & digestion, removing heavy metals...

Carol told us that she takes a tsp. of French green clay in a cup of water, lets it sit overnight, then drinks it most mornings, to give minerals and remove toxins.

Where Carol buys clay:   French Clay for All

"Carefully drink the water only on an empty stomach.
A bit of lemon juice or cider vinegar
will not only improve the taste,
but will be beneficial for clay assimilation.
Start by taking it once a day -
in the morning , on an empty stomach."

1. "When our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, said 'Repent,'
He called for the entire life of believers to be one of repentance..."
on the door at Wittenberg on the eve of All Saints Day when there was sure to be a lively discussion on the topics of concern.

 Andrew said, "I can preach."
