Malachi 2:15
Has not the LORD made them one? In flesh and spirit they are His. And why one? Because He was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth.
II Timothy 3:16-17
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
I send you wise men... ~Jesus, Matthew 23:34
One who receives a righteous man because he is a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward. Matthew 10:41

“…when a woman, considering to what she has been called...does not refuse to endure the pains, or rather the fearful anguish, of [childbirth], or anxiety about... anything else that belongs to her duty, God values this obedience more highly than if, in some other manner, she made a great display of heroic virtues, while she refused to obey the calling of God.”

Help Reach More People with the Truth in 2025

You are a vital part of Ligonier Ministries’ fellowship of truth, and we
thank you for your support for this global work. We wrote to Ligonier’s
supporters...
Moreover you shall select from all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
If someone sins against us, we are to rebuke him. We know from elsewhere we are NOT to hold bitterness; if we do that, we should pray that our bitterness be released immediately and let God replace our bitterness with something else, and joy would be a nice replacement in this situation.
We state the facts of what he did, we tell him he is wrong, we tell him what he should to do make it right…If he sins against us 7 times, we are to rebuke him 7 times.
We are to forgive him completely if he repents (Jesus' words). That mirror's the way God forgives - if we repent, He separates our sin as far as the east is from the west.
Sea World trainer, Dawn Brancheau, was drowned to death Wednesday by Tilikum, Orlando's star killer whale. The trainer's death took place in front of horrified spectators at the afternoon show.
In response to a law suit from Brancheau's family, SeaWorld states that trainers know the risks of working with these animals. Even though Tilikum was involved in killing two other people in 1991 and 1999.
"SeaWorld," says the article, "has decided to keep Tilikum, but remains unsure as to whether Tilikum will perform again."
The scripture has a different ethic:
Ex 21:28"If an ox gores a man or a woman to death, then the ox shall surely be stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be acquitted.
Ex 21:29 "But if the ox tended to thrust with its horn in times past, and it has been made known to his owner, and he has not kept it confined, so that it has killed a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned and its owner also shall be put to death.
At the very least, Tilikum should be killed and SeaWorld liable for allowing/assigning a trainer to a known man killer. Using the principles of God's law would be a mercy, a kindness to future trainers.
No one can despise his father or mother without being guilty of an offense against God. “An inevitable curse threatens all stubborn and disobedient children.” Obedience is the evidence of that honor which children owe to their parents, and is therefore more earnestly enforced. It is likewise more difficult; for the human mind recoils from the idea of subjection, and with difficulty allows itself to be placed under the control of another. Experience shows how rare this virtue is, for do we find one among a thousand that is obedient to his parents?
…parents are to be obeyed, so far only as is consistent with piety to God, which comes first in order.
“I am the Lord thy God, who show mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” Exodus 20:5, 6 …no other commandment but that which enjoins the obedience due by children to their parents is distinguished by a promise.”
Though it is not ideal to vote for a lady for governor; it is evil to vote for Rick Perry. He has sold Texas to a borderless state with Mexico. That is treason. Rick Perry has gone out of his way to promote the NAFTA super highway. He says it is for "goods and services," but the real purpose is to obliterate our boarders. There would be no boarder check point. Anyone can drive right through into our country. The first checkpoint is in Kansas City, Kansas. Many Texans have lost their ranches through Emanate Domain. It is 1200 feet wide; Texans slowed it by requiring each county to approve it. Rick Perry is still pushing for putting in a superhighway. He is not for constitutional states rights as Texas has had a proud history of. He just mouths words that conservatives love to hear. Texans pleaded Rick Perry to stop the Tran-Texas Corridor and the Real ID card.
Debra Medina managed Ron Paul’s campaign for the state of Texas. She says, "Texas has no room for the EPA." The Environmental Protection Agency mandated a $10,000 2008 filters and additional one for 2010. This is destroying business for truckers. She is a constitutionalist. She believes in limiting government, ending property tax in Texas.
I am disappointed that Christian men like Dr. James Dobson’s endorsement of treasonous Rick Perry.
Rick Perry passed a law that forced all girls to be vaccinated with STD prevention injections. This treats all girls as if they are harlots.
"No more than the Romans could lock up Jesus Christ inside a sealed tomb can the churchmen of our day confine Him to the church. If they continue to try to lock Him into the church, He will shatter the church as He did the tomb, and leave it empty as He emerges to rule the world, for He "is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords". ~ R.J. Rushdoony
Ron Paul — advocate of the un-Republican policies of free markets, sound money, non-intervention — won the CPAC straw poll, beating Romney (who had typically spent a bunch to win.)
Ron Paul – 31% Mitt Romney – 22% Sarah Palin – 7% Tim Pawlenty – 6% Mike Pence – 5% Newt Gingrich -4% Mike Huckabee – 4% Mitch Daniels – 2% Rick Santorum – 2% John Thune – 2% Haley Barbour – 1%
A more personal perspective comes in the form of Lance Seppi, a young beekeeper who is just starting out. With a mixture of uncertainty and youthful overconfidence, he tries to keep his business going in extremely trying economic circumstances.
Geoff Botkin said that the so called emergent church is not church. It is disgraceful pagan childishness and ecclesiastical treason. It is a proven failure and an admitted failure. Bill Bright who started it acknowledged that the emergent church was a big mistake.
No dominion; No cultural transformation; It is a social club trying to reduce the gospel to bring in unbelievers and becomes a “church” filled with unbelievers. A church of asking Jesus into your heart without the R word: repentance. There is no forgiveness without repentance. Jesus died on the cross to fulfill the law of God. The Law is holy, just and good. Without the Law of God, we have no clue what Jesus was doing hanging on the cross.
Cyrus Scofield (as in Scofield Reference Bible) said that if the Jews had repented, Jesus would not have needed to die on the cross.Scofield did not understand the law and the prophets which foretold the coming of the just one who came to fulfill the law. All the sacrifices pointed to the coming of the perfect lamb that took away the sin of the world. No one was ever saved by the sacrifices. They were looking forward to Jesus. Scofield taught that Jesus did it out of love, not as a fulfillment of the law because Scofield was antinomian, anti-dominion, anti-cultural reformation.
The Vita Mix was one of our first purchases after our small house in town sold 12 years ago. We've kept up the warrantee and the same unit is still serving us sometimes three times a day! We grind almonds, grain for bread, salad dressings, smoothies and then blend soapy water to clean it:).
One tip: the dishwasher is not a good place for the blender container and don't submerge the base of the container in water either-- we had to replace some parts after doing that.
We make green drinks too, with unsweetened canned pineapple and fresh spinach. I've heard parsley or mint is fun to add.
You can use the wet or dry blade container to grind almonds, but not more than about two cups at a time. If you want to make almond butter, you will want to roast them or add a couple tablespoons of oil after they are ground to powder. For this we use grape seed oil.
Jodavid discovered something that helps reduce the noise. He pops popcorn in the pantry with the door closed. Now we do this with our Vita Mix too.
"Lutein and zeaxanthin, which are found in leafy greens like kale, travel to the central area of the retina (called the macula), and are the only known carotenoids located in the human visual system. Previous research has shown that these pigments are protective against age-related macular degeneration. Scientists now have evidence that these macular pigments also play important roles in visual performance.
Since our bodies can’t produce these pigments, levels of lutein and zeaxanthin in the retina depend on the amounts consumed in the diet. "
"Only God can change a heart. All the diets, disciplined efforts, exercise programs, treatment centers, hypnosis, or any other methods are destined to fail if the heart of the person has not decided to live. I think many people have to hit bottom in order to look up, and Ronnie was no exception. After his second trip to the hospital for treatment of serious heart disease in three years, we were both at rock bottom.
What was the turning point for you? Upon returning home after having three stents put into his arteries [two years after quadruple bypass surgery], I watched Ronnie search for a new way to live. He discovered Dr. Fuhrman’s web site and began to communicate with him about his health. As Ronnie gained information, he began to change. Although that first year was hard, (Ronnie had been smoking four packs of cigarettes a day and stopped cold turkey), his decision to live never faltered. It was an instant decision on his part. Seeing his will to live again was a turning point for me as I could look forward to a future with the man that I loved the most in the world. My assumption of being a widow was no longer valid! God had come through in His mercy." -- Peggy Valentine
Victoria is my beloved friend, my trusted mentor, and my wise counselor! Every young woman and mother would be wise to set aside the time to hear godly instruction from this precious woman of God. I treasure every conversation with her . . . and so should you.” — Beall Phillips, wife of Doug Phillips
How does a wife help her husband be the man Christ wants him to be? How can she inspire him to love her? How can she discover the forgotten joys of being the helper God designed her to be? Beginning March 1, Victoria, beloved wife to Geoffrey Botkin, will host weekly online mentoring sessions for women as a homemaker's resource to the worldwide Christian community. Mother to five boys and two girls, Victoria draws insight from 30 years of applying Scripture to marriage with one of America's most visionary men.
February 12 is the day that both Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin were born, and they were two men who impacted history. As such, they were both men I studied extensively in high school, and men that I've been bumping into a lot during my U.S. History studies over the past two weeks. Today's post is a repost of a paper I wrote my senior year about some misconceptions regarding the presidency of Lincoln. For further reading, I recommend The Real Lincoln, Lincoln Unmasked, The War Between the States, Dred Scott's Revenge, and Jefferson Davis's Memoirs.
Walking through the doors of our local community college to take a CLEP test this week, I was faced with a large banner declaring the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln. I stood there, staring up at his picture, thinking back to the bloody conflict of the Civil War, and thinking of a popular saying around our house: "He who wins the wars rewrites history." In the spirit of Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Jefferson, and Franklin D. Roosevelt, modern American history books have deified Lincoln as the conservator of the Union, the Great Emancipator, one of the best Presidents in our nation's history. The Confederate flag has become a symbol of racial hatred and rebellion, and I doubt that, when I walk into my testing center in June, I'll see a banner heralding the birthday of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States (not that I'd want to; I'm more partial to Stonewall Jackson, personally =).
Charles Darwin is 201 years old today! Right now there are countless people around the world celebrating - it's Darwin Day!
