The Horns & the Beast From the Sea

Revelation was written to seven specific churches in Asia Minor: a faithful persecuted bride and also a prostituted church which was in apostasy.

In Rev. 13 are two beasts, a land beast and sea beast. The sea beast is the Roman armies that appear to rise out of the sea. As they look toward the Mediterranean Sea from Israel, and see the Roman Armies coming toward them, it would look like a beast rising out of the sea.

And then you have the land beasts. I believe that the land beast is the Judiasers and the Herods. It is also known as the little horn in Daniel’s prophecy. In Daniel’s prophecy, he has a big horn and a little horn.

The BIG horns would be the Cesars, the Neros, these are these: Julias Caesar, Augustus, Tiberius, Caligula, Claudius, Nero, Galba, Otho, Vitellius, Vespasian. Those were the Cesars.

The land beasts working with the Cesars, were the little horns, the Herods:

A. The first King Herod put to death the boys under two years-old after Jesus was born.

B. The next Herod beheaded John the Baptist

C. Another Herod oversaw the trial and crucifixion of Jesus.

D. We have another Herod in the book of Acts, who killed James, the brother of John, and attempts to seize Peter. He was later eaten by worms because he did not give glory to God. Those, I believe are the little horns, the sea beasts working with the Judiazers to destroy the Church. Together they worked to destroy the Christians.

In the end the beast that rises up out of the sea destroys them. In the fall of Jerusalem in AD 70, Jerusalem was surrounded and hemmed in on every side. Roman armies leveled the entire city of Jerusalem and its walls to the ground with everybody starving in it.

In Rev 13:1-4 This is talking specifically of a person, Nero, who dressed as a lion, went into the coliseum and attack Christians. All the world marveled. He also kills himself with his own sword. Nero did that.

Four Cesars died in one year: Nero, Galba, Otho, Vitellius. They were killing each other. People thought Rome was falling apart. It looked like Rome was dead. Here you have a mortal wound which healed. Then, all of a sudden Vespasian rises up and takes over. That is the mortal wound being healed.

No amount of understanding could you have calculated him as a 21^st century person. This was specifically written to a persecuted people prior to AD 70 probably in AD 65. We know Nero was one of the kings because it says that five kings have fallen and one is and the other is not yet come. We know for sure that it was written during the reign of Nero. Therefore Revelation was written prior to the fall of Jerusalem which occurred in AD 70.

The 666 has nothing to do with a bar code or a computer chip. Each Hebrew letter has a correlating number. When you add up the numerical value of Nero Kaiser’s name, spelled in Hebrew, you get a total of 666. [See The Last Days According to Jesus, p188.]
