Veritas Liberabit Vos

by Esther Seppi

Idolatry is when something or someone is more significant to you than God, when we care more about what they think than what God thinks.

When we grumble about circumstances or refuse to give thanks to God for people in their weakness, regardless of how inconvenient or hurtful, declares our unbelief in Jesus’ lordship and sets us in opposition to His sovereign Word.

The moment we look to a person to make us happy, we give him the power to make us miserable. Consequently, we can’t love him.

Here's a song about idolizing one man. He isn't God.

In any church setting, the elder can become an idol. When churches are rejected, this idolatry may turn to the father, mother or child in the home who may usurp God's place. This too is Humanism.

Truth is NOT just believing whatever you want to believe. You can know the truth. She will set you free. Seek her with all your heart and you shall find. Christians are to be good Bereans.

Who needs soap operas? If you want some drama in your life, all you need is a few friends and relatives! What do we do about church discipline for those who are "Christians?"

The wounding of the pride of man can pave the way for true conversion and healing. It puts the soul in touch with reality.

Some have suffered the delusion which comes to many who were exposed to an evangelistic method some call "decisionism." Once one thinks he "has it," why would he ever come to a pint of questioning sincerely if his faith is genuine?

We know a husband that shows obvious signs of ancestor worship for his parents while demonstrating extreme contempt and hostility for hers. There is a need for repentance involving confession and conversion.

I climbed up the steps 65 times, 3 times around the house and garage, petitioning God that His will be done.

"But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable,
murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars
shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone,
which is the second death."
Revelation 21:8
For the wages of sin is death,
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
