The Woman in Revelation 12:6

The beginning verses in Revelation as well as the ending verses tell the hearers that these things are shortly to take place. Revelation must be understood in it's time texts repeated throughout the book: near, shortly, quickly, at hand. Revelation is not a book in our future, Rev. chapters 1-19 took place in our past. Yes it is written for us, but it was written to them, to those who were about to flee Jerusalem and be saved from the holocaust in AD70.

The last of Revelation, white throne judgment, is in the future.

The woman in Rev. 12:6 is true Israel, who gave birth to the messiah. She fled to the wilderness.

The dragon is spewing false doctrine and heresies. The church under Paul's leadership resisted the false doctrines while other Jews drank them up.
